Dear Edgarley Community,
I write today to provide an exciting update for you regarding visitation to Edgarley.
Based on the Australian Government’s “Coronavirus COVID-19 National aged care guidance visitation recommended actions by tier” document, we would like to advise you of the following changes to our visiting arrangements.
Visitors no longer need to be from the same household
Residents’ visitors no longer need to be from the same household; residents are now able to receive a visit from 2 people from a different household at the same time.
Visits no longer require an appointment
Visiting no longer requires prior arrangement. We ask that residents’ families liaise with each other to plan their visits to ensure that the number of visitors to a resident does not exclude maximum room density of the room (maximum of 4 people – the resident, 2 visitors and room for a staff member if required)
Visits in outside areas are also able to be facilitated.
No visitors in communal areas
Visits to residents are to remain in residents’ rooms only. Due to social distancing requirements, visitors are not to spend time in communal areas.
NEW – Visiting Hours
To assist with the implementation of these arrangements, we will trial the introduction of the following visiting hours:
- 9 pm – 4 pm, weekdays and
- 1 pm – 4 pm weekends, and public holidays
We ask that you schedule your visits based on these hours. If you are unable to visit during these hours, please call Judy Jones, from Monday to Thursday, to discuss.
Visitor access to the facility
- Visitors only point of entry continues to be via the main entrance. Please ring the doorbell to advise staff on arrival
- Visitor screening, temperature check and the use of masks are still required.
- The use of face shields/goggles is no longer required for visitors.
- Upon leaving the facility, please return to the main entrance to sign out (during business hours).
Influenza Vaccinations are still required
We ask that visitors continue to provide us with evidence of their flu vaccination.
Christmas Visits
Families who wish to take their family member home for meals at Christmas are encouraged to. At this stage, we are unable to facilitate family members having meals onsite, due to social distancing and density requirements in our dining areas. Please contact reception by 15/12/20 so we can schedule pick up (starting at 10.30 am) and drop off times.
Kind Regards,
David Knight
